This tea has been referred to as "Okinawan Tea" in the media recently, but that can be misleading. The tea is produced in China, not Japan, although the Okinawans drink more of it then anyone else in the world. Many experts credit their overall heath and fitness to this fact, and that is why it has become so popular as a weight loss aide* here in the states. It features tea bag cut green tea leaves that are lightly scented with jasmine blossoms to create a very aromatic and flavorful infusion.

These Jasmine tea leaves are called "fannings", which is the same cut that is used in tea bags. The tea diffuses more quickly and less of it makes more tea than larger leaves.
